Couldn't agree more. It was a perfectly nice grassy roundabout. The renovations must have cost a fortune, and I understand involved using Section 106 money supposed to be for community improvements. A sand pit and paddling pol in nearby Archbishops Park would have been far better. Plus what is the point of a small cycle path if alterations to the late Westminster Bridge roundabout mean that Lambeth Road and Lambeth Bridge have had to take a huge increase in traffic.
However it is funny that the tallest trees in London have been planted just in front of expensive appartments marketing themselves as Parliament View. Perhaps they should be renamed 'Redwood View'. (And any truth in the rumour that Carol Vordeman has just bought the penthouse - in which case she becomes the fairy on the Christmas Tree.)
