Does anyone know when they will be finished working on the train tracks above Druid Street? The last notice I received didn't mention them working today. They not only woke me up first thing this morning, but are now also keeping me awake tonight.
I agree, it's been a miserable few weeks in terms of noise - particularly the night drilling (and the teams shouting and swearing at each other). I threw my letter away after the supposed 'expected big noise' weekend a couple of weeks ago, but I don't remember reading that it would go on this long. Can I recommend silicon ear plugs - don't drown it out completely but enough to sleep usually.
I also agree. This has been going on for long enough now. Not did I not recieve any advance warning about these works but it has runied our entire summer as we have not been able to have our windows and doors open. Has anyone complained to Network Rail?
Unfortunately I chucked my letter away (the one that said we'd experience unavoidable noise in July) - if anybody has the details of who to contact in NR Customer Services I'd be grateful if you could post it. It's not just the noise of the drilling that is infuriating (through the night), but the teams shouting and swearing at each other and passers by!
Not sure if it's the same letter but I have a letter from Network Rail forewarning me of works (and the noise) to the bridge over Crucifix Lane this Bank holiday weekend. Work will take place round the clock from 5am Sat 24th Aug until 5am Wed 28th Aug.
The letter is from Michelle Tyrer, Interface Scheme Project Manager, Thameslink.
Her email is [email protected]
Otherwise, the general address and phone number in the letter header is:
Thanks BeeLee; I think the problem is I'm between Enid St Bridge and the Crucifix Lane one :(
On the plus side I'm away on holiday this week! What's the betting it carries on for an extra month though ...
