I am putting on an exhibition of prints, videos and family history focussing on the Bermondsey Street area this September. The exhibition is called Bermondsey Street Odyssey and offers a perspective spanning almost 200 years. It will run for 5 days from 17 to 21 September and includes the life of Henry Thorne, a nineteenth century leather dresser. Also showing will be as yet unseen video footage of the area shot in the late 1980's and prints from 2012 and 2013. Local film makers Amy Ryles and Jude Bliss will also be be premiering their new short film, #55 about the life of one of Bermondsey Street's buildings. You can see more by visiting http://richardqmiller.com/bermondsey-street-odyssey-2/
I am looking for some local volunteers to help with the event which is utilising the community hall at Tanner House in Tanner Street. If you'd like to put some paint on the walls, help with installing the exhibition or with invigilation during the show, I'd be interested to hear from you.
