I'm from N.Z and am currently here in Bermondsey. I'm trying to find an address where we have a record of my friends Great Great Grandfather having lived. Does anyone know if in 1869 there was an Elizabeth St in Southwark? I have found Queen Elizabeth St and Elizabeth Square but not Elizabeth St. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Southwark Council has maps online back to 1896, but there's no record of Elizabeth Street Queen Elizabeth Street is on the 1896 map.

Hi jonpm.

There was an Elizabeth Street in Camberwell but it is now called Lisford Street. It was changed about 1912. There was also another Elizabeth Street in Lambeth and it's now called Bartley Street.

Hope this helps.
