My girlfriend and I dropped in on the way home on Friday night (about 10:30pm) when it was still on soft launch. I was in flip-flops and shorts and was welcomed with open arms. Had a quick chat with one of the senior guys (possibly the owner? was a bit worse for wear by this stage) and he couldn't have been more welcoming. Music and atmosphere was pleasingly low-key and mature and you could hold a normal conversation. Cocktails were spot-on, but certainly in the strength-category of 'sipping and savouring' rather than the gulping 2for1 deals of your average [email protected] (a good thing in my opinion).
Reminded me of a couple of places in the Goodge St Area that I really love, and it turns out there's a connection with London Cocktail Club up there.
I really hope this place does well. It's independent and has the hallmarks of being a well-run, trouble-free bar that could become a real destination.
Hoping that this might lead to a knock-on effect with The Grange and/or The Fort in the near future.
