a Southwark First party could be a great rallying point for those who are disaffected with the Big 3...anyone know if UKIP are standing in the council elections? if so they are remarkabley quiet considering the opportunity they have
"Southwark First" - think kind of works. Instead of Party and ourselves First.
In my ward I hear that UKIP are quietly busy! It will be fascinating. I expect they will at least pic up 200 to 400 of the votes that went to "independent" candidates in 2010. And then the swing from LD and Tories on top they could potentially do well in Rotherhithe.
A lot of people will be voting UKIP for EU as a protest, but less voting UKIP for Government. That's how I see it overall.
APP selects "talented" candidates for Wards which is a bit of a worry whereas UKIP seems much more likely to allow more ordinary people I know becoming candidates.
E.g. people who might be have been called yuppies and guppies etc if they did not wrap themselves in a narrative of helping others while they (and their mates) help themselves!
