Just received a flyer announcing filming at Red Planet Pizza of 8 part drama for bbc 1 called 'the interceptor'
So on Monday the 21st July from 0800-1400 hours control and safety measures will be put in place for small stunts. What made me laugh there will traffic management, a police presence and marshals...
They will be diverting traffic around Bartholomew Street for 2 hours, that'll be a laugh, hope they tell CYC who's vehicles regularly tear down this street. There will be vehicles parked in RESIDENTIAL AND SHARED USE BAYS...ON BARTHOLOMEW STREET, DEVERELL STREET AND BURGE STREET. so if you park here on any given day move your car with a note on the window for parking wardens!
Ah..back to normal today..coaches parked up all day it seems, just gone outside and told the driver to switch off his engine after 10 minuites, he was very nice (just as well) he said I am just going now, and when I remarked they all say that and it is a continuous stream, pointing out when he's gone there will be another one to take it'd place, and sure enough there was one waiting! as he pulled alongside the noisy one the driver told him that a resident had complained I think because he never even parked up..
Why cant signs telling drivers to switch of their sodding engines be put up I'll never know.
Personally, I'm rather looking forward to the next Bond film, seeing as I was kept up all night a few weeks back as they filmed in and around the Westminster Bridge area. Thanks to the SE1 daily e mail I was expecting it and it was good to watch, very agile helicopters I must say.
Wish they were filming today, the last three hours have been a right pain, some cretin of a coach driver kept turning his engine on for five to ten minutes during that time. Went out there just now to find my neighbour remonstrating with the driver who was telling her he was perfectly entitled to have the engine on for 5 minutes only..to build up the air pressure, we told him that it is illegal for a stationary vehicle to have the engine running, he disagreed..
The engine was going on and off through the entire length of time he was parked, he did not even have enough sense to turn engine off whilst leaning through his window! There was no name of the coach company on the coach or phone number, I think by the arrogant attitude he displayed the coach may be his! To cap it all hobbling in bashed my healing foot.
Am dreading the whole weekend if he comes tomorrow I will get a sledgehammer and smash his flipping windscreen or his smirking face!
