The Panel has been running for a few years and has established members.
The below gives a brief overview of what the Panel’s functions are and membership criteria (Stay with it, its only short!!)

Panel function

The Neighbourhood Panel will decide the priorities for the Ward by examining the results of community consultation and research by police and partners. This will include taking account of results from public events and meetings where the community have voiced concerns.

Who should be the members of a Neighbourhood Panel?

Where appropriate to the demographics of a ward, every effort should be made to ensure that people are recruited from within the six diversity strands (Race, Age, Disability, Gender, Sexual Orientation, Religion and Belief.) Each team will endeavour to attract a wide range of people to ensure that the group is representative of the community. Some local ‘leaders’ will also be useful. An ideal size for the group is about 10-12 people, too many make it hard to reach agreement.
