I agree with Ivanhoe. Masters is well worth the trip, wherever you are in SE1.

Long lane if you want a take away. For an eat in Masters Superfish on Waterloo Rd (a short ride on the 188 bus) is the daddy of them all.

I still pop into fishcotheque and now and again mainly because it brings back memories but it is very good at what it does.

The chippy on East Street also deserves a mention

Battye's in Castleford. Best in the World. (Not related; no astroturfing here!)

Cas Vegas!! No way. Fish means cod, none of your West Yorkshire haddock habits ;0)

...if you press it, they will come.

The fish and chip shop rule is: If they don't sell Rock it isn't a proper fish and chip shop!

That rule only applies south of the Watford Gap.

Rock to me as a child, was what you got from the seaside, with letter running through it.

...if you press it, they will come.

What a load of Pollacks, I much prefer Haddock :)

I like both. It's odd though: ask for fish in a West Yorkshire chippy and you get haddock; ask in East yorkshire and you get cod.

...if you press it, they will come.
