NHS Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)would like to develop a new healthy weight service in Southwark for people who struggle with losing and keeping a healthy weight. We are keen to hear the views of local people who struggle to achieve a healthy weight to design what this service could look like to make sure it is suitable for the people who will use it.

The service would be an important part of wider healthy weight services and will provide an alternative for some people to having operations such as bariatric surgery.

Throughout January and February 2015 we have been speaking to people accross Southwark about their experiences of trying to lose weight to become a healthier weight and what services could help them acheive this. 75 people in Southwark took part in our survey giving their insights.

The next phase of this project will be to talk to people who struggle with their weight in more detail and design the service. We are holding two workshops in April for people who are very overweight, with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40+ or 35+ if they have other illnesses such as diabetes or heart problems.

The workshops will be held:
Tuesday 21 April 2015, 18:00- 20:00 OR
Wednesday 22 April 2015, 12:30- 14:30

There will be a free healthy meal and we will pay you 20 as a token of our appreciation.

If you think this workshop applies to you and you would like to take part please email us at souccg.south[email protected] or telephone 020 7525 7888 for further information.
