I am trying to find a local plumber, perhaps retired - who might be willing to teach me a bit about soldering. I have a DIY job which is just a little bit above my pay grade. I want to learn how to do it and have everything needed but a teacher! I have tried to find a local plumber but the job is too small for most (just changing out a rad but will involve soldering and sweating out a pipe - not a like for like replacement).
There will be obviously cash in hand or alternatively money behind the bar at a local of their choice!
It's admirable that you are prepared to learn skills like this.
In my experience, 'end feed' and compression joints depend more on preparation than skill.
I hope you find the plumber-tutor.
