Hi Drog.

Roughly what are you looking for and how many hours per week? Maybe a picture?

Hello all - does anyone have a recommendation for a plasterer please? I have a wall with a couple of nasty cracks in the plaster skim and it looks that at least a section of the wall has blown. I think I need a fix before it all falls off.... Any suggestions please.
(I'd rather receive recommendations than direct approaches from tradespeople please - thank you)

Hello bmovie
Could I ask you to drop me a note too. I'm looking for a gardener for some ad hoc work too.

The trades person this matter relates to is Angelo Avella, Electrician, 26 Glennie Rd, West Norwood London SE27 0LY.

We agreed for him to review my heating system for assessment at no charge. After doing the job he then said I had to pay charges for the job, parking and congestion charge. My tenant said he was only present at the job for 45 minutes but he wanted to charge for 2 hours, stating he was present for more than 2 hours. I asked for a break down of the bill ( his bill only quoted 'labour') but he refused to provide this. He left me threatening voicemails and harassed my tenants for payment. He said he would tell my tenants to take the charge out of their next monthly rental payment.

I contacted Citizens Advice who notified Trading Standards. They contacted Mr Avella to advise him of his legal obligations - that as the original agreement was for no charge I was not liable for any charges and that he should not be harassing my tenants or myself.

He is not recommended

pnangle I had a very similar experience to you with Angelo. He was very vague about what the electrical fault was, overquoted by hundreds of pounds, and relentlessly tried to convince me to replace all my LED lights with "better" ones. Not impressed!
