So Rev Pape has to be positive because he is a man of God? I don't get that. I agree with Bunhouse, it would be dishonest to mislead people. I assume he is allowed to speak for himself as well as for God and I don't suppose God has a view on basements!
Yes. Speak for oneself using one's own name. Speak for the Church using your Church title. Claiming to be acting purely as an individual, whilst also using your job title is ambiguous.

...if you press it, they will come.

As I see it, Rev Pape is perfectly entitled to use the honorific in all aspects of his life. Rev Pape has been quite upfront about who he is and why he is concerned. Beats posting under some anonymous name.

I could be wrong, but retired ministers/priests etc keep the honorific even when they retire.

Perfectly "entitled", but shouldn't be surprised if people find it ambiguous.

Has this been decided yet. This is not hopeful, this is a modern building

I wonder if Lambeth Council will be influenced by the collapse of the house in Barnet? The likely suspect is the digging out of a basement.

That's an old warehouse conversion. Not modern. It's been up for sale for quite a while. Maybe they think the basement will shift it.

beetroot, it was meant to be a conversion but the developers knocked the old stables/warehouse down and were forced by the council to build them as a facsimile in 1996. We think the owners believe the basement will add lots of value because the price asked is ridiculous. The old buldings can be seen on early Dr Who series.

Is there any news on this ?

Have the council refused permission to dig a basement?

Has the applicant lodged an appeal?

Has the owner sold the house and bought a larger one that will suit her needs?

The owner has withdrawn the application apparently.
