St Thomas Street arches

Looking at the new brickwork on the St Thomas Street arches/ new entrance to the revamped London Bridge station at the end of Weston Street I notice that there is already has green slime/mould growing on it. I wonder if this is deliberate so as to age the brick work (sarcasm) so that it blends in with the original brick work along the street.

I wonder if it's to do with what the 'brickwork' is made of. I saw them putting those arches in. Each one is a single piece. I'm guessing cast concrete.
