Can't see this reported yet on this forum but no sooner has The Castle Centre opened- on 21st June Fusion loses its management contract to Sport and Leisure Management Ltd (operating as "Everyone Active" https://www.everyoneactive.com) who run council gyms in Ealing and Sutton.
On first viewing they appear to be WAY more expensive in comparable locations:
e.g. Swimming with concessions is over 3 x more (£2 compared to currently 60p at Castle)
off peak Gym with concessions is 50% more ( £4.45 compared to currently £2.80 at Castle)
I've used concession prices as they are the most affected residents and a few quid could be the difference between exercising or not. If one has the Southwark Leisure Axess card I imagine they have to honour those prices, who knows..
Also Off peak times are currently Mon - Fri: 06:30 - 16:00 with Fusion/in most Everyone Active gym it is Mon – Fri 09:00 – 18:00. Apparently if you are unemployed you are not allowed to get up early and exercise...
The peak times will be mostly relevant when Everyone Active publish their classes- as at present Fusion run very few classes off peak at The Castle (only 8 out of 33 classes are off peak! 3 of which are spinning and 2 of which are 50yo+. thus discriminating against concession holders IMHO.
