Me po folk! The pharmacy in the high st had a queue outside reaching down pass the Karaoke Bar.....and as much as I love karaoke singing smothered in bites did not appeal to me! Oddly enough in Bruges one year , October I think I was so badly bitten by the critters I scratched non stop drawing blood...stupid really as on immune suppressants and had a ominous red line going up my leg! But the critters there were very posh! Lol

Bruges is a beautiful city, as is Eeklo, to the East on the road to Ghent, but in high summer the canals in Bruges can stink to high heaven, no doubt the canals are the stamping ground of the mosquitos.

Try Venice in high summer. I had a shower of anti-mosquito killer sprayed over me from a helicopter as I exited my car. Now we may have discovered the secret of the SE1 mystery copters!

Funnily enough, I have often compared mosquitos to helicopters, you can here them but they're rarely seen. We had one in our bedroom last night (mosquito not helicopter), drove Mrs b mad so she got up and slept on the settee, every cloud....

That's why cans of insect repellent sprays are harmful, she may accidentally aim and hit you with one for that remark. They may even harm mosquitoes also.

I like the mosquito helicopter comparison, it's quite apt!
