The publication of the funeral details has taken a while because the family has been searching for service and reception venues sufficiently large for the expected numbers. Today I received information on the reception.
Taken together, the full details are:-
The funeral is at 10 a.m. on Thursday 19th January at St. George's Cathedral, St. George's Road SE1 7HY. (The coffin will be received at the Cathedral on January 18th after 5.45 p.m., when members of the public will be able to pay respects privately and leave flowers.)
A reception will follow the ceremony, at approximately 11.30 a.m., at the Horse & Stables Pub, 122-124 Westminster Bridge Road. This is located near Lambeth North underground station. Please note Lambeth North station is closed, so the nearest tube for travel is Elephant & Castle.
The burial will take place in Tillington, Petworth, at the All Hallows Churchyard at about 2 p.m.
Stephen Humphrey was known to many people far beyond the sphere of local history, so PLEASE HELP BY RE-POSTING THIS INFORMATION ELSEWHERE. Thank you.
John Harvard Lionel? There may be people researching history etc. Who may have known of him? Very interesting and helpful gentleman who loved our Local history...
I was very sorry to hear of his death, he was so helpful with local history research and his books were really interesting. Condolences to his loved ones.
