So after all the expense of putting in the new lifts in the Bakerloo line station, they're going to rip it up and put in another one?

Possibly, maybe, in about 10 years time. If they have the money. If developers decide to cough up enough to make the extension viable. They could have just left the old lifts for another decade, pending all this... Of course, then people would have been complaining about the old, unrealisable lifts.

I think the problem is not so much where the station will be, but how crowded it will be. If the redevelopment of the shopping centre goes ahead unchanged there'll be 7 towers, 5 of which over 20 storey high!
