Whatever our thoughts on requisitioning properties a la Jeremy Corbyn, or otherwise, this article is a good read.

Glad you found it useful, Jan.
When I was a kid we were told about a country far away where rich princes stepped over beggars in the street and did nothing as it was their "fate" or karma. I was horrified by this, and wondered how such a thing could ever happen. Now I just have to look in the news.
The more of this story comes out the more sickened and disgusted I feel.
A journalist in the Guardian yesterday was talking of "social murder" of poor people in this, the richest area of one of the richest cities in the world.

I never imagined I would read this good news.
The Cinderellas of Grenfell Tower are going to the ball, and being rehoused in new flats.

That is wonderful JazzyQ , not read it properly yet, are they going to be permanent tenancies? Or just a holding pen in luxurious surrounding..hope it's the former! X

From what I have read they are permanent homes.

Just have a look though at what our own dear Southwark Council are up to?
Working class people are so shamefully treated. I hope this horrible fire has exposed some of the greed and social cleansing that is happening all around us, and that a stop will be put to it.

Just listening to Ben Okri on Channel Four news reading his poem about the Grenfell fire. Very moving.
