A male black cat had been around for a number of weeks, in the
Union street area. He is not wearing a collar, but very very friendly.
Is any one missing him.?

If you're able to get near the cat, would be worth checking the condition of the cat's fur and eyes to see if it needs help.

If looks to be okay, you could always put a collar on it with a note to the potential owner.

If you can catch it, take to the vet to see if it has been chipped, for details of the owner. If you don't have a suitable carry cage, if required, the local animal charities will usully loan one out to you. Good luck.

Hi a similar situation happened last year where a black cat was hanging around Union Street for weeks and was being kindly fed by neighbours until Battersea came and took him into care. If the cat is a stray then please call the Battersea Dogs & Cats home and they will come and collect the cat for rehoming.

Better to ask a no kill shelter to help - "catcuddles" for example...altho i know they are struggling with the number of cats they help.

The first thing to find out is if it is stray.....the collar idea is a good one, and checking the microchip. Does tha cat seem human friendly, fed, condition?

Once you're sure he's a stray... Worth considering calling Celia Hammond...
