Gavin - he’s been liquidated. The glint in his eye when he took £160 cash from me whilst giving a receipt - for a battery I didn’t need said enough to me. Once my van broke down 24 hours later he wanted £1k for something which didn’t need fixing. There’s a pattern to this fraud and look up other sites for reviews.. The blonde totty by his side walking down the road explains a lot. “What was it first that attracted you to a conman”..

Quick review of MB Autocheck:

Was great - rolled up at 8:30am when they opened - I was third in the queue - ambled off to come back an hour later. My little car had passed without problems.

The team were great and super fast and professional and no problems at all.

I need to sort out a service at some point ... But would totally recommend them for a MOT

I recommend General Autos in Arch67A which is on Abbey Street, tucked under the railway arches near Gelding Place. Very happy with both MOT & service on my car. No connection, just a satisfied customer. Yep: 020 7237 3444

Thanks for all the recommendations, as we'll have to stop using the Kwik fit soon it's good to have reviews for alternatives.

I've used Nick at Millennium for many many years for more than one car at a time and I am distraught. Gavin you are right when you say that it is a serious blow for the local area when a small business goes under. I had a small/medium sized business in Borough High St and had to fight to keep it alive. Since I left the building which housed four businesses - two of which went bust and two moved that building has been empty. Knock on effects all around. Nick was royally screwed by Network Rail when he left his arch and I am sure the costs of relocating and setting up again were totally disruptive to a small business.
Nick has a very difficult personal life and has worked hard to keep his a family who have terrible whole life health issues. He is a person - not an autonomous rip off company.
I have been screwed by every big garage you can think of and it was such a relief to find Nick who I truly thought gave a fair and honest service and many friends moved to him on recommendation and were relieved to not have to pay the high 'main brand' garage rates nor be treated like crap by arrogant staff. Not least my husband who waited over an hour in Mercedes because he was 'forgotten'. Or was it because he wore workman's clothes and not a suit?
Nick Hart, I am sure you will not read this but I salute you and thank you.

Please never use Kwik Fit again no matter how good the "deal" is. Last time I went, I was told I needed a new air filer and oil change. I had just changed the air filter and oil the week before. Avoid!

On the other hand, I found the tyres I wanted online and showed it at the kwik fit and they met the price. I'm not sure we can generalise with these things.

Never used their tyre service but I wouldn't recommend getting your MOT there
