I don't think foreign ownership comes into it necessarily. From my observations, I'd say most other countries have an equal if not greater appreciation of art in public places than Britons do. Even the grimmest roundabout in northern France has a sculpture on it.

It seems a little mean to only describe you as 'A London blog'. Is there a good reason for that or is it a case of the Daily Mail feeling threatened by a better standard of journalism?

It occurred to me earlier, since 'Cheyenne Roundtree' appears to have written the piece in the Daily Mail and they evidently monitor the SE1 Forum for stories, using the name here will now alert them to a new post, and so they can pop by and apologise for not crediting the story.
