I walked across Southwark Bridge the other evening for the first time in a year, and I forgot to post the tremendously important finding that there are apparently no City dragons (or griffins) on the bridge or either approach!
There is a small plaque recording that the bridge is maintained by Bridge House Estates at no cost to the public.
In case anyone with influence in the City Corporation is reading, the state of the lamps on the bridge is appalling - at least four lanterns are completely missing, some others don't appear to work, and the whole lot looks to be in need of refurbishment and repainting.
hopefully someone will note this - the Bridge House Estates Trust is pretty rich (so well off in fact that it has diversified its spending to more than just bridge-care) so they can easily afford to TART THIS UP nicely. I hope.
