His support of a cringeworthy balloon re USA President visit....

He's not supporting it, he's refusing to ban it. And if some Londoners want to stick two fingers up to the most cringeworthy American president since Warren G Harding - then they should have the right to. Seems a very British sort of protest. Personally I think the best thing to do is to ignore him, which is effectively what is happening - he's not been invited to Downing Street, or Parliament, or Buckingham Palace. Perhaps the Queen could have a diplomatic cold at the last minute and send one of the grandchildren to greet him at Windsor Castle. Apparently in London he's staying for one night in the US Ambassador's mansion, secluded in 12 acres of Regent's Park - Winfield House - intrigued to note that in World War II it was used by a barrage balloon unit.
we cannot help but ignore him The likelihood for most of meeting him is somewhat remote but I would welcome the chance and opportunity

'...welcome the chance'? Wouldn't we all, Paramount? The chance to spit in the man's face. Sadly, he will in any case ignore us - just as he will ignore Theresa May and any other British politician if it suits him.

Khan isn't 'endorsing that hilarious balloon': he's endorsing Londoner's right to express their beliefs.
Better to poke fun at an unfunny, po-faced ignoramus that to throw molotov cocktails.

As for the necktie thing, there is no dress code the London Mayor has to follow in the course of his normal working day. His predecessor looked like he had just got out of bed, yet no one was saying he was demeaning his office with his unkempt hairstyle...
Boris attempted a tie..

Not always he didn't, as can be seen in this image that displays all the gravitas and dignity he brought to the office of Mayor...

I wish Sadiq Khan had given permission for the baby blimp to fly higher than 60 feet above Parliament Square so that most of London could see it, and perhaps the media in the USA will publish it along with the truth of demonstrations, except Fox News of course.
I do hope the sick sycophants are ignored totally.

Stalin described those among the British ultra-left who supported him as "useful idiots". He had no interest in advancing the cause of socialism in the UK; he just wanted to weaken the West.

I think Brexiteers supporting Trump are the modern day equivalent. He has neither the will nor the latitude to grant the UK a special trade deal. It's a mark of our desperation due to the ludicrous Brexit situation that some are looking to him.

Him and Boris are two peas in a pod; shameless self-publicists and not an ounce of sincerity between them.

Another ridiculous comment that demonstrates you're living in a past that never existed.

The spirit of Blimp lives on in 'Paramount', unfortunately.

As far as I can see Trump does not honour handshakes or contracts. N.B. the amount of times his companies have gone bankrupt, ruining his creditors. The same man supports white supremacists and nazis, Putin, separation of children from their parents and is anti PRO-life. The supreme mysogonist... and still some speak good of him.

I can't believe you can see good in this guy. He threatens the security of Europe, bullies his allies, takes away women's rights, empowers violence through his thuggish manner, he's uncouth, stupid, lies blatantly and lacks any empathy that I can grasp, but it's good enough for you that he went to Billy Graham's funeral. Really?!
