I see in the news section that the Salvation Army headquarters are leaving Elephant & Castle. Their building on Newington Causeway to be redeveloped (surprise surprise). I am wondering if their Chapel on St George's Road is also going to be redeveloped?
Oh dear, not again, however high you go it won't bring you any nearer to God, so it's not even worth trying. Salvation Army's present building is tall enough, it is good that it will be converted for accommodation but who for, the locals, will they afford 90%, I don't think so, so they'll go to the highest bidder of course. All this at a time when there are many still on the housing list and wanting decent, affordable (whatever that means) homes, although the term 'affordable' has now been changed to 'unaffordable' for obvious reasons. Let's see common & economic sense take off again.
