So, faster KFC take-aways are to be faciltated by Lambeth Council's Labour councillors.

Never mind all the 'eat healthier' messages that are being sent out almost daily - they don't care. After all, the NHS has been given so much money by the current government it's sinking under the largesse right?

Why didn't they give that arch to the nice tandoori thats just been forced to close in The Cut? Or to the wonderful West Indian food stall under the bridge?

Methinks the Trumpian dystopia has seriously crossed The Pond.

Why would they ’give’ the arch to someone other than one prepared to pay the rent and rates? Not my cup of tea, but I can think of things worse than a KFC. Like McDonald's , they bear the brunt of ire about unhealthy food, but there is plenty more that is unhealthy out there. Indian food (something you seem to like)is swimming in Ghee, for example and your local news agent, off licence, corner shop etc is awash with high sugar confectionary and high fat friend snacks.

The council doesn't "give the arches": these are let by Network Rail.

What Lambeth does do, is issue or deny change of use and alcohol licenses. I see no reason why they would have denied a restaurant license to Southbank Tandori if they had taken out a lease with the arches' owners.
