Waterloo bar and kitchen closed ??

Noticed the other day that the waterloo bar and kitchen, on waterloo road has closed - menu taken down and windows covered . just a sign in the window saying closed

website still there , anyone know if they have shut for good ? always seemed quite busy when i have eaten there ?

Oh no please donít say itís closed down. Nick made this restaurant a great place to visit.

I think they have been on notice to close for some years as I believe the building is owned by the Old Vic theatre and is due to be incorporated into the theatre's as part of a refurbishment. It is sad though as it was very good - quality and value - but for a long time now the sword has been hanging over it.

Noticed today that the restaurant was repossessed by the landlords (The Old Vic) in mid-January.

The Old Vic has an extensive refurb programme underway including introducing more loos to mitigate the ongoing problem of queues!

There's a licensing application in from the man behind the Vaults and Vaulty Towers to reopen the premises as Hello Darling
