Does not this report suggest that the IMAX area is likely to be completely re-designed. If so would it not be best to put TFL's current proposals for the area on hold. The new proposal should be able to create the space to allow a right turn into Stamford Street which the current plan does not.
The continuing craze for higher and higher buildings with their varying designs transforming our greatest asset - the River Thames - into an unlovely canyon seems to know no bounds. The appallingly cluttered area around Waterloo Station in particular, still awaiting the 125m. high Elizabeth House, must surely have reached its zenith - one would have thought. But no - here we have a proposal for a 135m. monstrosity on the BFI roundabout.
I have every sympathy for the struggle local government has to maintain its services under the pressure of government cuts but surely there must be a way to tackle this other than systematically destroying our city. Could you imagine the French authorities contemplating for one moment doing this on the banks of the Seine or indeed anywhere in central Paris?
Councillors of Lambeth/ Mayor of London, for goodness sake put a stop to this.
