Planning Appeal. Hi all, It's time to ask for your help again! Some of you may remember that we were asked to provide opinions to Lambeth Council about the proposed 29 storey tower block in Kennington at the end of last year. The process has now gone to appeal and we need your comments again please before 10th JUNE!
Residents are supportive of a development on the old nursing home site that sits just off Renfrew Road right next to the historic Kennington Workhouse and Water Tower buildings - however we feel this is disproportionately massive (can you see the famous Water Tower just to the left of the block - if the image above isn't working - look here ??) and that the 258 proposed homes will cause huge congestion for the surrounding streets with an estimated 600 traffic movements per day (and that's after it is built, never mind the construction phase).
If you love the traditional look and feel of our conservation areas that surround this development and/or will be negatively affected by the increased traffic/pressure on infrastructure etc - then please visit here:
Thank you if you have already lodged your comments to the Planning Inspectorate regarding the developers appeal to build their planning scheme at the site of the former Woodlands nursing home in Kennington.
If you have not lodged your comments, please take action now . Feedback from our supporters has indicated that they valued the little bit of extra time to complete their comments on the Planning Inspectorate's website and not have to rush it.
