The Cut was closed at one end for the last six months. The world didn't end and the motor dependent community seemed to cope OK.

Genuinely out of interest, BunHouse - what's your objection?

After six months of closure the new travel habits would be quite well ingrained. I would've moved the food market out from the pokey little alleyway by the BT building to outside the tube station and kept the road closed during off-peak hours.

Although they were putting out bollards and diversion signs this morning outside the entrance to the tube station so it might be closing again for something else!
