Can anyone suggest a good plumber? I have a job (replace a slow leaking pipe) which will take a few seconds but I don't want to call Pimlico as they charge a fortune. I could do this myself but I draw the line when it comes to blowtorches.

I used

1st Call Plumbing St James's Road 0207 231 4435

He was not cheap, but he turned up on time, repaired the previous plumbers bodge, did a good job and went

but I was desparate!

I also have since found the Institute of Plumbing web site with a post code search of registered plumbers

There's a splendid chap called Kevin Foster who lives in Romford whom you _might_ be able to persuade to come south of the river 07702 251975

have you tried those plastic push fittings, or maybe the ones with olives in that just need tightening up, and they seal themselves (sometimes with some PTFE tape) if it's an easy pipe to get to it shouldn't be that difficult to DIY.
