Anyone know what happened to the SE1 book club? It seems to have vanished off the face of the earth! Anyone interested in one?

I don't know what happened to the SE1 book club but if you're still looking for one in SE1, try one of the several run by the Lambeth Library service:

I've been a member of the Waterloo reading group for a couple of years and find it very enjoyable - plus they provide the books so you don't have to buy your own copy each month! We've been getting around lockdown by downloading audiobooks from the library site and meeting via Zoom although they've now reopened the Durning Library so we can get back to picking hard copy titles again.

Hi Stuart,
Are they accepting new members to the Waterloo book club?

Hi SE1's
In case anyone else is like me and misunderstood what "re-opening" the Durning Library means, regarding books, it is only open for collection of pre-ordered titles and returns. I went there yesterday and there is no immediate prospect of a fuller re-opening - e.g. to go in and browse those wonderful shelves of "New titles". The staff member who came to the door told me that this is because of rising cases of coronavirus in London. Ah well.
