He won the electoral college, which was put in place in 1804. Every candidate since then has known that you have to win enough electoral college votes to win the election. A strange system indeed, but no stranger than our first past the post system, where a party can garner 1.5 million voted and get 50 seats (SNP), whilst another party garners 4.5 million votes and gets no seats (UKIP).
As for the Millwall players statement, what did you expect it to say? Millwall FC pay their (generous) wages. They are hardly going to voice any opposition to this fascistic nonsense and risk their careers.

From their original mission statement, their aim is to form a “global liberation movement” that will “overturn US imperialism [and] capitalism.”. There are some other doozies in there, like dismantling the traditional Western nuclear family, closing prisons and giving reparations to jailed drug dealers! You do have to do a bit of digging online these days, because since they realised that they can make some serious moolah out of stupid white people and corporations, they have removed a lot of this stuff from their websites.
A couple of their founders described themselves as "trained Marxists" (who knew you needed to train to be a Marxist? I thought you just had to have a penchant for taking other peoples money and killing anybody you perceive to be in opposition to you.)
The BLM movement was founded on lies (the Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown shootings, both young men who made the rash decision to get into a fight with somebody who was armed. Michael Brown in particular was a young thug who was stopped by police after he had beaten up a shop assistant and decided to try and wrestle for the policeman's gun. Bye Michael! BLM "activists" then tried claiming that he had shouted "hands up, don't shoot". It was Pure B.S, greedily lapped up by the servile media.
