If you're at all interested in the various Blackfriars Road schemes it's well worth dropping in to the inquiry venue (Tue-Fri approx 9.30 to 5) as there is a lot of well-presented material on display - models, images, plans.
Has anyone heard an update on the status of the public inquiry into the proposed Beetham tower?
In the current environment, I am frankly amazed that the company still remains keen to invest in the area and has obtained funds to support its aim in the midst of the credit crunch. As a resident in the block opposite, I think it is a fantastic plan and I am keeping my fingers fully crossed for it to be approved.
I wish there was more transparency about what is meant to be a "public inquiry"!
The inspector who conducted the inquiry last autumn will have submitted his report and recommendation to the secretary of state -it is up to her and her department when the final decision is made and announced. Some time in the next month or two is a fair bet.
so its down to blears is it? i have more faith in the intellectual and aesthetic capabilities of my cat than that woman. the development would be another fabulous asset to SE1 as well as a job creator in the construction phase. what would the horrendous hazel know about SE1?
