Given that I am always, right even when I'm wrong, you can rest assured that my word is good!

& don't get me started on so called R&B. Grrrrr

Looking for a carpenter? I'm sure there's been a thread about it recently.

Ivanhoe - if you'd been at Southampton University in the early '90s you could have joined our elite band of Julie-admirers. We founded the "Julie Andrews Appreciation Society" and got ourselves a little pot of cash from the student union as an official society.

Julie's the pups nuts!

RESPECT!! chustler.

You should check out the nft programme for November. All the films, and a special performance of The Sound of Music (which is where I like her least) with the great lady giving a talk afterwards.

I also happen to love Ms Andrews: she's one of my favourite things ...

chustler - how early 90's ?

Was there 91-94 - but sadly never came across your group....ah the missed opportunities of youth...

Edited to say - Ivanhoe, what about an SE1 Social trip there ?

Great idea Siduhe. I've joined the nft just to get priority booking rights for Julie (members get first crack at tickets, but they're not even on sale to members yet). Give us a call/email if you fancy seeing anything. Mrs I has said she'll probably come to one thing with me, but I intend to see as many as poss, so I'd welcome the company.

Just to clarify the ELO point - no, not metal but just seemed appropriate after EMO. But I like ELO anyway. Seeing the ad on this page, what exactly is "metalcore?" Similar to "grindcore?" Still, to get back on thread, does anyone know of any pubs / clubs in SE1 which cater to the over 20s rawk-lover? Nothing too mcuky. I like a place to sit down and the opportunity to chat as well as to have a little dance.

I met Julie once. She was great. Have to say I'm not a huge fan like you Ivanhoe, but I did call my mum to tell her that I'd met her as soon as she'd left the room. Lets face it, the lady is a legend.
