Or there are runs every week as part of the training for the Nike 10k race. If you visit www.runlondon.com, you'll see there is a "South Thames" run that leaves from London Bridge, although it is 6 miles long - far further than I can walk!
I'm running the Nike 10k this coming weekend, and I too lack the motivation sometimes to go running on my own.
I'd be interested in running with someone (though I'm a bit slow), and you sound like the right kind of person because my normal route is across the OKR, down the side of Burgess Park, and then along the old canal and back a few times (depending on how I feel).
I'll send you a pm.

My boyfriend has recently been training for the Berlin marathon and used to run all round SE1. He used to find running along the riverfront (West from Tate) quite good as you can go along to battersea park and round or cross and go up to Hyde Park for a long run.
