There's definitely an existing NCT group which covers this area. And they run classes for parents-to-be in the room above the excellent Royal Oak (how good is that!!!)

Mrs ABC and I attended the NCT classes at the Royal Oak back in July before ABC jr's arrival - can there be a better venue for NCT classes anywhere?!

Definitely not, Andy.

What I found incomprehensible though, was that at lunchtime for the first couple of days at least (iirc we did 3 full days, spread out over a few weeks) everyone apart from us went elsewhere for lunch, leaving us to enjoy the Oak's finest, and me to have a couple of leisurely pints to fortify myself for the afternoon.

The others seemed to prefer spend 10 minutes heading up BHS to track down some hand-knitted tofu, or some kind of fried chicken. I had to put it down to hormones eventually, because the other people turned out to be quite normal really when you got to know them.

...if you press it, they will come.

We did two full days in a week (a Tuesday and Thursday I think) and we booked a big table downstairs for lunch on each day, which everyone got stuck into. In fact, I think our lunches might have been extended a bit to give us enough time to get through the legendarily massive portions served up. I was glad of a pint at the end of the day tho, definitely - there was quite a lot of information on the course to take in for a non-medical first-time dad like me...

All in all, highly recommended for all soon-to-be SE1 parents.
