Hi, Wonder if anyone can help.

Long story so i'll try to keep it short. During a serious illness this year i went for some acupuncture. The guy who did it - Gavin, from the Polyclinic - was leaving and told me he was setting up his own thing "near london Bridge", and that he would be doing Yoga there. It was with a friend, and he told me it was going to be called something like 'Allwell' and they'd have a website.

Well, i have now had surgery and - apart from more acupuncture - it turns out i'd benefit from some gentle yoga excercise. The reason i'm trying to find out where his set-up is, is that i'd feel safer with someone who had knowledge of my medical history. So far i've failed to find this place online. Could be his premises or plans didn't go smoothly, but if you have any info, I'd be grateful.

Dear Erica,

I run the Allwell Centre in SE1 (just off Bermondsey Street) and Gavin (Stannard) is a colleague of mine. The centre is a specialist acupuncture treatment centre with a growing syllabus of evening classes that have an emphasis on Eastern healing modalities. We currently run Tai Chi and Chi Gung classes every tuesday and thursday. Gavin will hopefully begin his yoga classes in July/August. All our therapists are fully qualified and registered with the British Acupuncure Council and all have many years experience in Eastern movement therapies.

You can see our website (still very much in development!) at I'll pass on your comments to Gavin. Please do get in touch if you need anymore information, or forward me your email for a copy of our May/June schedule.

Very Best Wishes,

Glenn Cumiskey

Hi Glenn

Many thanks for this. As you will see from the date, it was a long time ago now. In fact, it was around last summertime that I was visiting Gavin for my acupunture, and I was very sick then (having chemotherapy at the time, with an operation looming). I doubt that Gavin recalls me - I was the one that walked in looking like death, with an extremely scrambled brain. (Plus Erica is my 'nom de plume', my real name is Dawn.) The treatment helped greatly and kept me going through a rather dark time, but I am now fully recovered, I am pleased to say.

Am pleased to hear all is going well at the AllWell Centre and will visit once I am back from my forthcoming holiday. My email is below.
