Yes, I saw the film on Friday night and instantly recognised the arched windows in Bridget's flat as being the top floor of The Globe pub in Bedale Street.
Also during the filming they converted Turnips arch into a newsagent and the totally realistic Greek restaurant - in which they had the fight - was No 5 Bedale Street. The taxi rank shop is now where the "pie and mash" shop has just opened up. All in Bedale Street.
But where was Mr Darcy when he bought the new diary at the end of the film ???????????????
I've a hunch that Hugh Grant's flat (or at least possibly a stuido) in the film is set in one of the loft flats in Clink Street. When Bridget leaves the flat the cobbles look like those of that street, and the view from his bedroom window over looks the green rail bridge in between Southwark and London Bridge. What do you reckon?
BTW... A large BBC film crew were in the market on Saturday last week filming a David Suchet period drama for later in the year. Apparently the pathway running past Turnips is the setting of a Victorian rape scene.
Borough market is cool but as you say Thurs to Sat. Supermarkets are super because they are open convenient hours. I don't think it will affect borough market much, although it'll affect iceland on lower marsh, have you tried their strudle?
