I like the place but it's always deserted.

It isn't deserted when I go in there: early evening after work usually. Friday night is busy 'til late. The upstairs room used to be used mainly just for private parties but now it gets overspill from the main bar downstairs.

its a nice pub...good beer, wine and food but spoiled by rather grumpy staff who dont seem to be very welcoming at is after all the "hospitality" industry

Hi boroughpaul. I apologise if you have received a grumpy welcome here at The LE. I will let the staff know and hope you get a better welcome if you visit again. Thanks for the compliments on the food and drink. Al

I went to this pub yesterday. The guy behind the bar was charming, very polite.
The beer is good but the chicken burger was a bit on the small side. I have already eaten there before and I would recommend the place.
However,it would be better if they had the football matches live, especially when the national team is playing.

which, if i recall correctly, is fairly often!
it's at least once a month (book club), and then there's all the social events that take place - you're always begging us to have more of them. ;-)
