We need local volunteers who have empathy for older people, to carry out Befriending, Home Safety and Research visits to isolated and vulnerable older people in Southwark and Lambeth for 2-3 hrs a week Training and expenses given CRB checks made.

Don't know if this is what you are looking for, but Charterhouse-in-Southwark has premises on Tabard Street (next to the Royal Oak) and run various projects for the local elderly population.

Forgot to say in previous post - Charterhouse does have strong links with Volunteer Centre Southwark which has already been recommended to you.
