Did anyone else go to the exhibition in the Salvation Army Hall of the the proposed plans for the new flats opposite St George's Buildings? (the ones being used for some of the tenants from the Heygate.)I was pleasantly surprised. If they go ahead more or less as suggested they should be a good addition to the area. I particularly liked the fact that they will be slightly set back from the road and have a glass/wood screen sheltering them from traffic noise and fumes. Also the aim is to create a new "square" in front of Prospect House and to keep the mature trees as far as possible. Some of the attendees were fussing at the loss of six parking spaces but other than that it looks good. What does anyone else think?
