Details will be on the Socials thread a couple of days before...anyway, it's from dark (about six oclock) on the top of MCH which is MOI, I provide soup and nibbles, everyone brings something or another, and you have to wrap up of course. Anyway, look at the Socials section and you'll see Fireworks matters. Good you're coming and you can bring an MCH cake...

The view from Perronet House across the Elephant & Castle north roundabout will appear on Channel 4's "Location Location Location: Best and Worst 2007" this Wednesday (17 Oct) evening on Channel 4. I have been reassured that it will convey the area in a positive light (given how glorious the photo is it would be hard to do otherwise), and was told Southwark was not in the Bottom 20 (as if that would have been possible), but then again not necessarily in the top 20 either (give it time, we'll get there). You can see the photo at

Pity I have a meeting that night, but super photo, Perretonian, well done. Loved the rainbow.

Jolly nice pic Perronetonian, and you can see my trees vaguely on the top of MCH...tell me what the programme on Ch.4 says about us!

Hi there all

I am looking into buying a property in this area and came across your forum - an interesting read.

I would be grateful if anyone could share their views on living in Perronet House, MCH or the area in general.

Unfortunately, I missed the program - do you know if it will be repeated?

Kind Regards

I watched the entire programme and there was no mention of SE1 at all - what a pity.

If anybody cares to write a sentence or two about our fabulous part of London, here is the link:

"The borough is made up of five very distinct London villages: urban and creative Bermondsey, historic Rotherhithe, relaxed and green Dulwich, cultural and contemporary Bankside & Borough and Peckham & Camberwell."

I'm depressed by the fact that they couldn't think of an adjective for Peckham & Camberwell!

So what does Newington fall under?
Elephant and Castle is actually part of Newington?
