Hello everyone,

I'm the licensee of The Leather Exchange and wondered if there would be interest in having a weekly/monthly gay social evening here? The pub attracts mainly a young professional crowd and everyone is always welcome at any time. I look forward to hearing your views on this.

I've been an SE1 local gay man for 9 years and am reasonably interested. I would rather there be a point to the gathering than just a 'gay social evening' if you see what I mean - I just get the feeling that without something to focus it would be just excrutiatingly embarrasing? That said I am feeling very uninspired as to what that focus could be?

I could run another SE1 Tupperware party! It's almost a year since the last one.

I agree it would be embarassing, but we need something since the Gladdy became the Glad (though I really like the Glad). Why don't you just list in the gaypers as 'gay friendly'? I don't know if pubs still do that but it used to be quite common.

Thanks Beetroot, good idea.

would this be a gay men's social or are women allowed too?
I like the glad, they are always friendly to me :-)

As a gay man, I would like to say I would want women, gay or otherwise to feel that its their night as much as the men.
Maybe this is an opportunity for a truly polysexual pub!
There are loads of clubs now where its completely acceptable to see same-sex or hetero couples snogging, not that I'm suggesting The Leather Exchange become a snog fest.

Absolutely, The Leather Exchange welcomes anyone at any time, gay men and women and hetro men and women are socialising together here.
