I have just noticed that there are free guided walks this weekend. There are 8 routes and take place every hour. A couple are in the South Bank. I have done it once and that was really great to know the history behind the places where we live.

I went on one of these from London Bridge today although MrSarahmc and I peeled off and walked to Rotherhithe and had a no frills lunch at the Angel which was really lovely.
This area is so wonderful, and I am away during the week in Cambridge at uni, so our weekends are precious. Today was really fab just walking around where we live, and it made us feel really privileged to live in SE1. Sometimes I think we are complacent and stay in watching telly, but today has definitely revitalised our zest for it! We stopped off at The Trinity on Borough High Street on the way home, and they had 'Mark the Barman' playing his guitar which was a great end to a lovely day.
