I'm looking for a barber in SE1 to tend to my (increasingly non-existent) locks. Any good tips? I tend to go for the cheap, quick and experienced sort of cutter, rather than the "I am an artist - I can change your life" hair consultant. I've been going to a guy in Bayswater for ten years, but it's a bit of a hike. He does a good job for 10, and while I'm happy to spend more than that I'd be delighted to spend the same or less!

opposite the Royal Oak. ?Tabard St?

(But do me a favour and don't go tomorrow as I need a haircut ;0))

...if you press it, they will come.

I know the one. That's a thumbs-up, is it?

I can recommend "Jimmys" - next to Bermondsey
tube station - he is also 10 (including tip) for a gents hair cut.

It's just outside SE1 - but worth the trip!

(Usual caveats apply - I only go there because he can sort my Barnet out)

The Barber Shop on St George's Circus (E&C side)- cheap and cheerful for a crop.

The best barber in SE1 is called Nero and he works in the Barbershop Kardo on Tower Bridge Road, next door to the Lebanese butcher.

He is hugely popular in the neighbourhood, not only because of his skills but also because he is a tremendously nice guy. He is the 'housebarber' of The Jam Factory, where I live, and everybody is raving about him!

thats the one i was thinking of Maurits, he used to cut my husbands hair and was really nice and obliging and never minded about the wheelchair...

Yes definitely - Kardo on Tower Bridge Road
Not expensive
Never comments on rapidly receding raw material on the top of my bonse
Not over long queues
