This makes for a massive deleopment - surely out of scale with what we currently have.

144-152 BERMONDSEY STREET, LONDON, SE1 3TQ
Proposal: Request for Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Opinion for a proposed development comprising demolition of existing buildings and redevelopment to provide a building between 4 and 9 storey's comprising 4460mē of Class B1 floorspace, 275 flats and an underground car park accessed from Lamb Walk providing 24 car parking spaces.
I get to the Old Kent Road via Great Dover Street, rather than TBR, hence my comparative unfamiliarity with TBR. I have been there, though! Just not many times. But I've only lived in the area a matter of weeks, so I'm sure this will be remedied when I'm less busy - whenever that may be.
TBR is definitely worth a browse when you get a chance. Not only does it have a good range of useful shops, but you can grab refreshments at either The Hartley or Sobo, both of which are very nice, and the Indian (Tower Tandoori) is also great.
can I just add my voice to the "Fans of TBR shopping facilities" please.
It's great. Some oddities and quirks, the most humble and mundane; food & drink almost around the clock; wigs; a decent leg wax; chinese herbalist; shoe mending; picture framing; clothes alterations and dry cleaning and even a great lighting specialist who will happily help you design/re-model light fittings and fixtures to meet your decor requirements.
I just hope that if we all continue to show our support by actually using these shops and spending money in them, that they will all continue well into the future.
Everyone so far in this post has forgotten about the pending planning application for the 6 story, 100+ room apart-hotel on Bermondsey St (former Titan House plot) too. Work seems to have temporarily stopped on the site until the go/no-go is given by the council I assume.
