We went to see Vernon God Little at the Young Vic last night and I just wanted to recommend it.
(My husband works in the same building- but he has nothing to do with the theatre or box office so this is an unbiased review.)
It was thoroughly entertaining with a great ensemble cast (although I particularly enjoyed Mark Lockyer as Lally and Lorraine Bruce as Pam).
The sets were interesting and became part of the production- the audience all laughed as a tequila bar spun round to become a typical Mexican jalopy with a fringe in the window.
It seemed as if the cast were genuinely having a whale of a time and the dialogue was punctuated by some bursts of song too which were not out of place.
Anyway, I can't remember when I last went to the theatre and had such an enjoyable experience so it's recommended.
