Last night, we went to see a Christmas Carol in The Baxter Theatre here in Cape Town. A South African adaptation, in a township setting against the background of the Apartheid past and a poverty and disease stricken present.

It was a wonderful, very moving and powerful musical adaptation by a new theatre company of Director Eric Abraham. The performance will be shown in The Young Vic from 20 November and I strongly recommend my fellow SE1-ers to go and see this. Do get your tickets early, as I am sure this will be a sell out.

Much love to everyone- we miss you all!

Hi Guys - great to get the inside track from halfway across the world!

I go to the Old Vic at residents rate - saw 'About my mother' and enjoyed it.

Now for the Young Vic !

I'll be sure to go...if M & F recommend, it's gotta be good.

All about my Mother was great, but I understand that the Old Vic have no immediate plans to repeat the resident offer. Pity.

Thanks for the tip on the Young Vic. We saw some great South African theatre last year at the Unicorn Theatre. There is clearly more to South Africa than rugby....
