I'm new to this area and would like to hear your experience with doctors in the area - recommendations as well as which GPs/practices to avoid. In particular, I looking for a doctor who is not afraid to prescribe medications for legitimate conditions and will not prescribe tea and paracetamol for every ailment. My last experience with the NHS was in 1996 and I am very apprehensive.

Thank you.

have been with the Waterloo health centre on Lower Marsh for nearly 3 years now. Never had any problems , good bunch there and have a walk in clinic from 0900 till 1100 each day in case you need to see someone and have forgotten or unable to make an appt ..

Dr Lipinski at the Landsdowne Medical Mission on Decima Street is brilliant.

I haven't seen any of the others there, but it has a good reputation.

The New Mill Street Surgery is quite good.
Contact details here:

Dr Emily Gibb is very thorough, friendly and helpful. Dr. Ana Viejo is equally competent. In my experience, it is a good idea to specifically ask for the above doctors at this surgery.
